Human Rights

Eleanor Roosevelt and the declaration of Human Rights

God given rights given to each person as a consequence of being human. The origins of human rights may be traced to the scriptures and finally recognised by rulers, kings and constitutions. A definitive attempt to define these rights was made in 1948 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document included the right to life, liberty, education and equality before the law, the freedom of movement, religion, association and information and to nationality.
