The Pacifist
Pacifists believe that all forms of warfare are wrong, they renounce war and refuse to support it in any way. The pacifist's position is a moral one firmly based on the belief that in no circumstances is it ever right to kill or be violent to anyone. Problems are never solved by labeling people as "enemies" and then killing them or threatening to kill them. All precautions for what is conventionally called "defence" constitutes a threat to kill, as such pacifists believe, they must be brought to an end. It is this principle - disarmament (unilateral if necessary) - that makes pacifism such a difficult philosophy for many people to accept.
